Good luck for all during playoffs (y)

Maybe I will try to use AI for game descriptions :D

Hello Paul George,

This AI initiative of yours was interesting, as I mentioned.

Would you, or anyone else of us HGL managers, be interested in attempting to make AI to create a match previews for forthcoming quarter final matches that are played in just a tad more than 2 days?

We don't currently have team stats for this season that could be utilized in such attempt, but I don't know if AI would be smart enough to be able to "browse though/inspect" previous box scores from this season (of which match links all are located only in two posts after all) to create a thorough analysis of team (and perhaps even player by player-level) performance over the season?
Are any of you guys very experienced with utilizing AI?

To quote myself above, I'll take silence as a no. ;P
Good luck to each team on today's quarter-finals, I hope we're going to see some close matches when you guys battle for a place in Medal games - win today, and you are guaranteed a shot at Medal match!

Speaking of which, if your team wins today, remember, that you will be playing on week after next week even if you'd lose, because semifinal match losers will play for Bronze medals! In other words, if losing in semis', please don't forget to start arranging Bronze match for your team as soon as possible!

@WiMaOlCa, please add match link to your own teams' box score post.
It is a HGL practice to have link added to your own box score post before match starts.
Having said that, you won´t of course receive a forfeit for not doing so (which was apparent as it's not written in rules), but again, this is strongly recommended practice to have link available there before match starts (and I wouldn't prefer to start considering changing the written rules into any stricter ones regarding this matter, if managers keep on following this recommendation).

All other HGL managers as well, please do check your box score post if you think you haven't still updated it completely.
Remember, it is everyone's duty to keep on updating it throughout the HGL Season, including Playoffs.
In other words, this isn't a voluntary, but rather a mandatory step/duty when you participate to HGL.

I understand that life can become very hectic sometimes, but please try to remember this step, and remember, that it doesn't take lots of time to do.
Links to your own box score posts are very easy to find (league table posts on both official threads), as you all know.

Despite a good strategic anticipation (zone 2-3 + inside focusing) my team had to lose vs KKS (69-74, euroligue game at its best ^^).
His Center was very well blocked (4/15, 20 rbds), the rebound was balanced (51-49 for me), but my PG made his worst game of the season (only 6 pts, 3 assts (more than 8 assts in regular season) and his PG made 16 pts, 6 rbds, 10 assts, because of the Inside focusing.
No regrets, cos' my team hasn't got enough versatile strength, but I would have appreciated that my best offensive player (SF-PF) had not been injured since last week... :/

Good luck for the playoffs ;)

Yes, very interesting match indeed - and a close one. Like you mentioned, M. Kavazić had a big game 20 rebounds of which 11 offensive boards (!), and he didn't stop there but added four blocks to KKS's statistics and finished with remarkable 18,5 match rating.

Match was so close overall - you shot slightly below your normal free throw percentage, KKS shot slightly above. So theoretically, in one scenario -1 point for KKS from FT line and +1 for you, and it would've been a 3 point game. Now you shot threes at quite atrocious 7,7% effectiveness (yes, it´s worth noting though that this was a defense orientated game as both teams had low FG percentages and both teams are capable of scoring against more "mediocre defense"), so should (in addition to previously mentioned changes in free throws) you have instead shot 2 out of 13 behind three point arc (at 15,4% efficiency), the game could've been forced into overtime...
And yes, again like you mentioned, injuries are something that nobody needs at the most important time of the season.
Anyway, very respectable fight on away court against strong KKS team.

Good luck to all to this weeks' semifinals on my behalf as well!

And please remember, even if one loses on this Sunday, they will be playing next week so be prepared to arrange a Bronze medal match normally when you see semifinal scores and can see who you should be playing against!

SventraCanestri, please add match link to your box score post before Sunday´s semifinals...

Thanks!
To be honest, I didn't think I'd win... I played without my best defender, and your players had very high DMI and good shape better than mine.
The final score is misleading, in my opinion. Your team had better ratings than mine, as well as many more rebounds.
I really can't explain the victory...

Also congratulations to all HGL medalists on Season 3 on my behalf!

Virtus Portici again seemed to be an unsurmountable mountain for all of us, and like Hadár well pointed out, even monstrous 30 (!) offensive rebounds (and 13 rebounds edge on total rebounds) didn't make Final a close call. In a 16 points victory, VPO and HAD shot almost similar amount of shots beyond the three point arc (25 and 26, respectively), but VPO scored 21 points more than HAD from three point range. Also VPO´s 12 blocks (vs. HAD´s 3 blocks) were making sure VPO's win streak kept on continuing.

Bronze match wasn't a close one either, except that before 4th quarter RAJ led by only 11 points. But having 46,7 to 27,7% edge in FG% and clear difference also in 3 pointers seemed to be one of the decisive factors. Difference is apparent, if you consider that KKS shot more than double amount of threes compared to RAJ (31 and 14 shots), but scored on only one more three point field goal than RAJ (6 and 5 made 3p FG).
These, with 57-47 edge in total rebounds, helped RAJ to reach a second consecutive Bronze medal in HGL.

@all HGL managers:
Please stay tuned and keep on following Official HGL Thread (especially the other, "main" HGL Thread), as preparations for HGL Season 4 will be started somewhat soon.

Also, if you still haven't filled all match links and scores on your team's own box score post, now it's time to do it.
