As for an update on HGL-PL situation that I recently wrote a post about, currently only 1 team (Tassie Devils) has announced their interest to participate to first ever HGL-PL (played during this BB season).

I'm also waiting for final participation confirmation from another manager.

Despite what I said earlier, while this is still totally unsure (as I have not been able to contact one of our current HGL managers), situation has likely changed into the direction, that we might have 1 place open on HGL Season 6 due to manager withdrawal. As I mentioned, this is still not confirmed though, so don't take this as a promise - just an info about possibly/likely changed situation already beforehand.

So this is a second reminder for all managers, who plan to have totally Home-Grown team during whole next Buzzerbeater season, that please inform me now, if you are interested in participating to HGL-PL (which means you'd be interested in participating to HGL Season 6, played during next BB season).

Places to HGL, for currently non-HGL teams, will be dealt based with their success in most recent HGL-PL.

As another remiinder, HGL-PL is a short league, which is:
A) free to participate, and will only cost you a token or few, and
B) is likely played with round robin format, meaning that everybody will face every team once in neutral court (if round robin is chosen as format - playoffs court balance is still undecided, should playoff-format be chosen), and
C) it is required that your team is already fully HG team during your participation to HGL-PL.

@ all currently Home-grown teams that are not yet playing in HGL, but are interested in participating to next HGL Season:

This is (more or less) a final call on HGL-PL (HGL Promotion/Participation League) participation!

HGL is, if someone is still unaware of it, a Pickup match based league, in where we all organize Regular Season matches manually before each Season starts based on schedule provided by HGL.

Teams that are "on the queue/waiting list" to HGL, are first and foremost being offered a place to HGL based on their success in most recent HGL-PL.

HGL-PL doesn't "eat up" too many tokens from your team either (likely 1-3), as it seems not too many teams are participating to first ever HGL-PL.

Why I am "repeating" my earlier post about announcing your HGL/HGL-PL interest, is because it seems likely we actually have at least one place open to HGL Season 6 (played during next BB season), as probably we are going to have to dismiss one current HGL team from our current roster of 18 teams.

So please let me know by sending me BBMail as soon as possible, if you want to participate first to HGL-PL (which is starting soon - please be prepared for that!), and then of course to HGL as well.

The formerly announced deadline (for informing about your interest to participate to HGL.PL) has already passed, but I'm still keeping it open for now.

It will not likely be communicated here on this forum Thread though when "HGL-PL participation announcement-time window" will be actually closed, so if you're interested, let me know before it's too late, as it can close any day/week now.

Currently 4 teams (team, manager, team abbreviation and link, top8-salary) have announced their interest to participate to first ever HGL-PL:
Tassie Devils: (38697) (Top8-salaries $174K)
San Fernando VR: (77070) (Top8-salaries $111K without HGL-ineligible player)

- Tassie Devils (Tazdevil); TD (38697) (Top8-salaries $174K)
- San Fernando VR (VR75); SAN (77070) (Top8-salaries $111K without HGL-ineligible player)
- borteam (bort); BOR (46607) (Top8-salaries $108K)
- M.L.S. REICH (impero); MLS (39615) (Top8-salaries $157K)

Note, that you have to have 100% Home-Grown roster when HGL-PL starts, otherwise you can't participate in it.
San Fernando VR has promised to sell/fire their HGL-PL ineligible player, Bolourchian, before HGL-PL starts.

As you can see, there's still plenty of room in HGL-PL for new teams, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to participate in it! There are also no "monster teams" (say, +$500K top8-salaries) this time around, so all "mid-class" home-grown teams might well have a good chance to win the first ever HGL-PL.

@all Home-Grown (HG) managers, that have possible interest towards Home-Grown League (HGL):

HGL-PL interest announcing-window for all teams have now been closed, and Pickup match organizing window/process for first ever HGL-PL (played between July 20th and July 26th, 2026) has been now opened.

Teams are free and welcome to inform me of their interest to play in HGL (and in HGL-PL) in future.
If more interested teams will be present on next BB season, we will play another HGL-PL on HGL Season 6 (BB season 73).

Hi LOPO_, you can add me under the HG teams in this post too. I have been participating in the HGL for a couple of seasons now and I intend to stay HG for the time being. Thanks!

Please, add me to HG teams again, working with homegrown team is more fun ;)
