I bought a player whose FT skill amounts to 30. His JS is also not bad at 10. However, his FT% has been around a mediocre 0,727... does it make any sense? Has the FT skill become completely irrelevant and random?

What's his JR? JR affects our equation as well.

How's his former seasons FT %?

His JR is also 10.

Former seasons:
64 24-33 0.727
63 28-38 0.737
62 27-29 0.931
61 28-31 0.903
60 18-22 0.818
59 56-66 0.848
58 16-18 0.889
57 3-4 0.750
56 3-4 0.750
55 29-40 0.725
54 15-18 0.833
53 8-8 1.000

I cannot fathom the drop from 0.931 to 0.727. 0.931 is where he should stand. I dunno if there was some tweak in the FT formula between seasons 62 and 63 but if there was it was a very wrong tweak.

Perhaps worse GS might add to the problem but even if he was at a worse GS, it's still mostly about luck.

So do you agree the changes made turned FT into a random skill and the numbers currently shown are more cosmetic than anything else?

but my point is: if a player has 30 (thirty) as an attribute for a skill (when 20 is supposed to be already extremely high), and when this skill is free throw, this player should be Curry and Nash combined regardless of anything else. This dude should make at least around 0.900 consistently, having a player like this shooting 0,727 is a joke, which means that having 30 FT means absolutely nothing, FT is absolutely worthless now.

That don't make sense either. He's a legendary shooter but can't make a FT for his life?

Does it make sense that a player is a legendary (30) free throw shooter but he only makes 70% of his free throws?

Or you should apply the same logic and having very high free throw skills should mean a higher FG percentage.

BTW, I dunno how it is now but players with FT1 used to shoot 0% of their free throws regardless of their JS. That was bizarre. One way to fix this was to code FT in a way that FT1 players would make 40%, not 0% of their shots. No need to mix JS in the equation.

BTW2: it is possible for a player have high FG% but low FT%. Take Ben Simmons for example. What is weird is having a guy who was supposed to shoot FTs like Stephen Curry but converts them like Blake Griffin.
