gym is definitely worth it IF you know how to pick your trainees. Your logic is a flawed. The cross pops without the gym are not even close to what the gym gives you, especially untill 22 YO

If u want to train guards then you look for guards with low REB and SB anyway, it doesnt matter if you have gym or not ...buying guards with mediocre or high level REB is just plain stupid.

dont forget that the cross training is random, so u must be really unlucky to get 3-5 pops on REB/SB from the gym only. If u train a 18 yo guard with strong REB then the fault is on you not the gym

That is valid in the context of general training, but if you train for NT or especially home-grown then you can't really choose your player's level of RB, can you?

And also - why is SB bad for guards?

Haha yeah, Joe, that I certainly agree on.

In regard to starting skill, however, I'd strongly argue that high SB is a definite pro for guards. Besides if the old theory that cross-pops tend to go predominantly into lower skills is correct, that means less of them will be wasted on SB.

I have a lvl3 Gym both at my fisrt and Utopia teams.

In Utopia I train 3 players (bigs) for 6 seasons, total 25 cross training pops. An average 8.3 CT pops for each player in 6 seasons, 1.4 per season. 3 of them in SB.

In my greek team I trained 2 players (guards) for 4 season, total 18 cross training pops. An average 9 CT pops for each player in 4 seasons, 2.25 per season. 3 of them in RB

I am not happy with these 3 pops in SB and RB, but I am tottaly satisfied overall. These are much more CT pops than last time that I trained without Gym

Yep, about 1.5-2 CP per season, per player in the early stages for me too. Sounds about right.

3 of them in SB/RB
Out of the total number of cross-pops or per player?

you are right about SB my bad, in the end it is all a matter of perspective and available choices. Greece has many users compared to other countries, so in the big picture I agree with you about the gym because I dont know how the game is played in a "small" or "medium" size country in terms of users

Which makes me think, the Gym really is useless? I mean if you're an older team or you have tanked some seasons on hardcore then yeah it MAY be worth it, but

1M initial investment + 15k each week for 6 season equals
1M initial investment + 1,35M weekly maintenance for 6 seasons equals
2,35M invested for 8 pops each player in 6 seasons, that's paying 261.1k for each crosstraining pop for your utopian team
Of course if it's 2 players a season you halve the cost to 130.5k each pop, which is still a lot of money

for your greek team
1M initial investment + 15k each week for 4 seasons equals
1M + 900k = 1,9M
1,9M invested for 9 pops equals 211.k for each crosstraining pop in an individual player
105.5k for each crosstraining pop in 2 players

Which to me is still a lot of money just for SB/RB pops...

Question : Why not buy a player with a decent level let's say mediocre in RB or SB and then just spend 8 weeks from 18y to 21y on these skills to achieve the same effect?
With how trainers are nowadays you will still be able to finish this player training until 28y/29y and you'll have an extra 2M+ to invest in many more important things
