I just had a scrimmage and put my usual thrid-stringer SF Capposela as starter. I triple-checked before tip-off. When the game started, however, SF Alptemucin had been listed as starter and got injured 10 seconds into the game. He is an important piece of my team and I don't think this is fair as I did not put him there as starter. Can we do something about it?

I used Let coach decide but at the start SF Alptemucin had the S for starter next to his name when Capposela should have.

Let coach decide is just that - the coach decides and you have absolutely no control over the lineup. That's why he was selected as a starter.

Funny enough that the rest of the starters were all third stringers as well and they started. Only exception was the one who got injured right after the jump ball. It seems like he got the start just to get injured straight away. That's lame and to me still sounds like a bug.

He didn't get to start just to get injured. He was selected by the coach as the best option. That's what happens when you use "Let Coach Decide".

If the coach had selected the best option all the other backups would have started as well because they are twice as good as the starters.

It was the best option for *him*. You will surely be better in picking the best lineup than our "coach". That's why we encourage using other substitution strategies.

Well, you have to admit that this is dodgy and if it's not a bug it's a serious dysfunction. For the first time ever my coach overrules my starter selection and a couple of seconds later this starter gets injured. There surely is something rotten in the state of Denmark (Shakespeare).

I was under the impression that the starters you select for a game are always the starters for the game as long as you set your line-up correctly and in-time, regardless of substitution pattern.

Why then would the in-game coach not start someone who's been listed to start the game? "Let Coach Decide" only applies to substitutions AFTER the initial jump-ball, right?
