I don't know at all if this has already been noticed, but i had in my cup game this evenning 2 strange events in a row :

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/75264247/pbp.aspx

Second QT, 3:57 to play : My player C. Malard is substituted while he had a FT to shoot. He missed (i have to admit that it's obviously harder from the bench)

Second QT, 2:41 to play : My player T. Fétiveau is substituted while he had a FT to shoot. He scored ! (what an outstanding shoot, among the speaker)

In basket-ball rules, you can't switch a player who has to shoot FT, unless he scores the last one he has to shoot.
If second case could be kind of correct (let says the switch has been displayed before it really happened), the first one is impossible.

After more than 20 seasons on BB, that's the first time i see this happening, and i noticed that the two cases were 1 FT to shoot after a converted shot (2+1 attempts)

Hope you'll be able to correct that ;)

It's happened in nearly every game I have played. I assumed it was some rule that is used overseas or something.

Yer just to chime in on this. even though its probably a bug, the way ive always seen it is this

a) Player is substituted, then makes the free throw - i just read this as the common 'sub if scored' situation, even though the play by play says he gets subbed first.

b) Player is subbed, but has missed the FT. - Subs has been called on the shooter, but he misses EVERYTHING - that is, doesn't hit the rim. When this happens, a violation is called, and the opposition gets the ball as an inbounds pass. Substitutions CAN be called here, and as such, the shooter gets subbed.

Thats basically how i treat those situations in my head - although they arent called very well in the play by play.

still. its just how i see it.

Yeah, this is a bug, but a hard one to fix. I'll eventually get to fix it. Until then, try to think of it as Coach Regan does

I think this should be applied to everything. :)

Which means the new challenge is to find a case where there's an offensive rebound of a missed free throw with the shooter on the bench. (I don't know if I've ever seen that, though, nor am I entirely sure I want to search through my games to find out).
