Hang Time was my intro to bball podcast and I still listen (although Rick Fox does come off as a douchebag deluxe... )
the Starters are cool, sometimes it gets a bit babbly.. like they get too excited or something

Mine too, I even downloaded the very first ones when Sekou started with a co-host that liked to argue with him. That guy didn't last long.
Unfortunately, Sekou passed away yesterday at the age of 48, apparently due to covid.
January 26 seems to be cursed

I know this is very much a late response and probably not relevant, but my BB YouTube Channel is sitting at 366 subscribers right now. This channel is solely focused on BuzzerBeater:

Nah, five years is a normal response time. :)
I got three more kids and emigrated to another country, but I sill play BB (although on low burner) so the tip is valid.

Yeah, absolutely.
I don't know if they continued the podcast, but I couldn't listen to it anymore. Without Sekou it's not the same. Would have been different, if he had left bc he wanted a change, but to know the dude isn't around anymore makes it hard.

Guess they cancelled it?
The Jump I find hard to listen to... too much ass-kissing and they're too afraid to loose their ESPN contracts.
Bill Simmons is fine, he is filthy rich and doesn't have to care about ruffing feathers, which in this case is good :)

You are right. The tribute episodes back in February were the last ones.
I started following some locked on podcasts, still have to give Simmons a shot. Many seem to be pretty high on him.

Have you read the book of basketball that he wrote in 09?
Its seriously the best sports book Ive read. Think its around 700 pages but it flows so good, you'll never notice :)

Not yet, but it sounds promising.
His podcast though, seems to be a mix of basketball and football or does he have another one that's basketball only?

I listen to Bill Simmons weekly and enjoy his shows a lot. It is a mix of basketball and football, but there are other shows on the Ringer that are also good and just basketball.

The "Thinking Basketball" podcast is also very good if you're more interested in advanced stats and analysis rather than just casual but fun/entertaining takes.

The redraftables episodes are kinda fun, and the book of basketball 2.0 (as a pod) sometimes is pure gold. But yeah, there are more purist bball shows there, sometimes his own show is a bit heavy on NFL or even baseball, which I think no-one outside of USA and Japan cares about :)
