Any idea on how 3 Red conference teams promoted from D2 and ended up in the Blue conference?

I don't think (but I haven't checked) it was random before. My first thought was that the promotion/relegation "rules" were tweaked so that the promoted teams were now randomly placed (it seems the relegated teams were treated as normal), in an attempt to rebalance the leagues where one conference was weaker than the other. (If this was the case, it would be doomed to fail, as it could just as easily strengthen rather than weaken a conference.) Given previous errors, like Utopia, Free Agency, training out of position, I didn't feel it was a stretch.

However, I've since considered that perhaps, since the team in question is the highest ranked of the promoted teams, perhaps they've decided to place the stronger promoted teams in the weaker conference. Presumably this would have to use the rankings, which aren't ideal, but better than nothing.

Or of course, it could just be an anomaly.

Its interesting though that Les Mousketeers stayed on the blue side.

I wouldn't expect too much from me this season, I wasn't expecting to get promoted. The players in my team are no where near god enough to compete in ths league.

I opened a bug forum and both Perpete and Marin claim it's completely random.

I do remember even Athrunzala saying in the game chat he was sure he would end up on the tough side of the Belgian D1 where Joemaverick was many seasons ago based on the red>red and blue>blue reasoning.

Strange that every time I checked teams ended up where I expected. Still, I'm sure they know best.

Had I still been in the EBBL I wouldn't have been disappointed at being given an extra home game against a high ranked opponent. You can't be sure which of the other conferences teams you'll be playing at home, and in any case, the teams in the weaker conference always earn less.
