Welcome people of BBBL !

Yet, already season 35 ... We welcome Shoes (reminder : a very important part of a basketball game), to the BBBL. A impressive achievement for a team that was founded on season 24, and was still playing play-downs in D.II 3 seasons ago. And we welcome back BC Minne (4 seasons of BBBL), BC FTA (9 seasons of BBBL and former finalist) and BBC Falco Gent (10 BBBL seasons).

This season saw Amenra complete his three-peat, and I think this is reasonable to think he'll be a serious contender to make it four-peat. The Cup went in Steamrollers' pocket, Nat's side being one of the most difficult teams to play on a single game. On the other hand, putting everything in the Cup meant they played play-downs, and although not endangered it's a sure fact the Providence boys can do much better than that.

Sad finalist Ventola Team yet has claimed another second prize, another tribute paid to Raymond Poulidor, unfortunately for Jona ; but he retains a fierce team and will be a serious bid also for the final victory.

Outsiders are Vottem Cowboys (could easily turn into one of the favourites when he'll want to), last season's surprise Tumasstars, and maybe Paros and Spartans (if I can solve my player problem). Obira has seen lots of TL activity lately, and it's hard to know what to expect from them. Eagles, Asingratitos and Mizu should have a quiet season, and as always, competition will be fierce to avoid relegation.

What do you expect / target for the next season ? Which will be the hot teams to watch ? Who will surprise, who will disappoint ?

Last but not least, who will bring me a worthwhile big man for the NT ? :p

I can speak for Obira.
Next season will be" a jump into the dark".I realy don't know how strong we are.
At this moment the team is incomplete.
So we must buy still one player...

According to Vottem...Obira is using a wrong strategy... (Joe is right)
I don't have the patience to build a team slowly.
And I don't have the nerves to try something sensational.

The Dragons are happy this way....Always having a good team....but never a winning (champion) team.
Our ambtion this season 4 - 5 spot.

Last but not least, who will bring the Dragons a worthwhile big man for a reasonable price ?

Thank you for this introduction to the new season Dartreb

I'll answer your questions later with my expectations for the coming season.

This post is just a heads up that i've put my two 19 year old promising draftees on the TL, for anyone interested in a young belgian trainee !!

Well as for me, I don't have great expectations for this year and I think I probably will be relegated :-(
I need at least 1 player and I don't want to buy an old guy... but buying a good young one nowadays costs 7million and that I cannot afford... so Hope BB reaches a level of stability soon because I find the current situation quite disappointing.

I still can remember back then when I had bought Jacoby for over 3 M, people were amazed by this amount of money ... Right now it is standard to spend 4 - 5 M on players that aren't nearly as good !

I admit that replacing players, especially big men, is a total pain in the ass.

Good old days ...

If we are looking for a game changer profil, it will at least 7 M, seems the market still increase. AmenRa has bought his players in the right time.

I feel your pain Dartreb, I'm also looking for a nice big man but nothing to find for less than 5 M.
That's why I thought to buy a decent C (only strong enough to be a back-up C in BBBL), but he just got sold for over 2.5M!!
I don't want to spend that amount of money for a player that's only strong enough for warming the bench.
So frustrating...

I know, I'm looking as well, and players that I would never want in my team are going for above the price I'm willing to pay ...

Yep, and still...the transfer market has not reached it's highest point as of yet.

Prices being currently paid on the TL prove this.

So we can only hope prices are close to their highest point, and that transfer prices will stabilize soon.

And, as normal processes tend to evolve, after stabilization comes a decline in prices, the only question thet remains is... WHEN ??

Probably when no-one will buy any more, which wouldn't mean this is good news, just mean BB would be dying ...

The most important thing is that many owners just understand how important training is, and start training and transfer listing quality players. Havin more quality players on the TL will lower the prices, but I doubt this will happen any time soon now.
