Last season, Bright Shadow had a star studded squad (3 players over 100+K and a lot of guard depth). When he got that 100+K post last season, he was definitely going to win it all).

When one team promotes to Naismith, another team demotes to league 2. This year, it's Calgary Spitfires. Personally, at this current moment, I think he's the frontrunner to win it all. In terms of salary, he doesn't have anyone over 75k, but he has 10 guys that are between 25-75k. That kind of depth is insane...Also, to field such a team and its salary, there might be staff and/or scouting cuts, plus a very minimal amount of income per week...

Hakeem and Harlem are probably the next two teams that have the next best chances of promoting. They relatively have the same core so they should be just as strong.

On a side note, can I just mention this. The new promotion/demotion system happened last season and I just noticed the team that had the best league 2 record in Canada just promoted, despite losing in the 1st round last season.

Thanks for the support. My teams have always been built on depth as opposed to high-end starters. It seems to work out well in D. II, but as soon as you get to Naismith it's a hindrance. There are a lot of games however that are decided when it's bench vs. bench, and that's where my strengths lie. It makes the Stamina stat worthless when you have a bench who can step up.

We'll see if I promote again. Not sure I want to.

Yeah, I can definitely relate. My strength also seems to lie on my bench (Though, a lesser extent of yours) but more on versatility as I can experiment with tactics, positions and training.

That three week injury on your C has got to hurt and the fact he's only 22 got to make it worse. Still, I think you can bounce back, as you still have a 9 man rotation in place. From what I learned, depth is nice and all, but I believe there has to be a "guy" (At least 100+K) that can lead a team into Naismith and compete.

Oh, so you named your team Calgary Spitfires..Are you from Calgary? If so, I am too lol (:

If I promote again this season I'll be looking into getting atleast one 100k+ player. I did OK in Naismith last season finishing in 5th place in the conference, but lost in relegation due to terrible game shape management at the time.

I picked up that centre late last season in hopes to train him up. Decent skills for a 22yo, but 3 weeks out definitely hurts my training plan. Oh well, my PGs might get a few more pops in 3 weeks so maybe it's blessing in disguise.

I am originally from Calgary, currently living in Drumheller though.

Cheers,

Actually, you mention training? Can you even train with your player salaries? And are you running at a deficit? I imagine you must have an advanced trainer and a minimal doctor (which could explain the 3 weeks injury)?

I'm still making over 100k a week. I have yet to play a home game this season (tonight will be the first) so we'll see what happens, I guess. Being that I demoted, I might have a hard time selling tickets for the first half of the season.

I have an advanced trainer but he's currently only costing me 16k a week (thanks to BB and being able to turn one of your players into staff from last season). I do have a minimal doc right now.

Edit: Made 60k profit and sold 93% of my tickets for my first home game. Not too bad.

Well...I guess things are looking quite different on my part. I'm currently making -25k a week after my big acquisition though I could increase that to +30K if I downgrade from Superior to Advanced, and drop my scouting to 0.

Personally, another big is the last thing I need, but I guess I prioritized talent and cost over fit. I think I might be the favorite to win it all this year, but my eyes are actually on the cup...
