"How do the U21 candidates plan to improve on the performance from S49?" - Zmtmoako
I was doing some reserach of the top squads in the Americas based off a quick perusal of the NT Scouting tool. Although this is not 100% because I haven't had time to look at it all, and I can't see their actual skills, I have made estimations of each division:
Our Division - USA 1st, Columbia 2nd, Canada - 3rd, Mexico-4th
Division 2 - Chile(very strong), Bresil, Venezuela, Uruguay
Division 3 - Argentina(stacked inside), Peru(very strong and home court throughout).. no one else
Based off of this, we will most likely not get into top 4-6.. It would make more sense to try to do the best we can, while staying out of the last chance qualifiers, so that we can try to see what we can do in season 40 and aim for home court for season 41.. Because of our perceived lack of depth, if there were 20/19 year olds close to as good as a 21 year odl, even if a bit worse, it would be in our interest to take the younger players, to try to develop some more expereince points for that player for later.
I think we will finish somewhere between 7th and 8th in the Americas. Of course, variables will change throughout the season, but that's where I see us. Would that make us have a more/less successful season than last year? Tough to say, but we could atleast try to set ourselves up better for the year after.
Hope that answers your question. It probbaly seems cliche to hear that it's atleast a 4 year plan, but if you look at the powerhouses that exist this year, I would be lying to say I think we'd make top 4-6. I just can't see it.
