hello guys so i decided to train a NT for my country and i have some decent amount of draft point so i think that i will try to have a good draftee this season's draft and i was wondering how to train a very competitive center/ ( for NT) . the idea is that for the perimetetr players its quite obvious because there is some good amount of topic about their training in the forum but for the big men i didnt really find smth obout them. so please any idea it will be really kind of you to help me achieve this project.

try this thread about the Coach Parrot tool... it helped me plan my training regime... just enter the current skill set of the player and the finish product... then you will see a suggested training session per week

For NT Bigs you typically train them backwards to a degree if that makes sense.

The standard that I have seen is:

first season: 1v1 F and/or 1v1 guards (many people alternate between these)
Gets secondaries to a decent place and some IS

second season: OD to 8-10 if not slightly higher
Gets OD finished for long term and provides some ID

From there you start plugging in any holes you want to fix and start on the REB transitioning to ID after.

A good way to think about it is as if you are training a U21 NT Small Forward and then when he is 22 you really start stacking on the big skills as his secondaries should be in a nice place and you won’t have to worry about fixing any guard skills when he is older and training slows down dramatically. Passing can be fixed last.

What’s your thought process for training progression? Do you look at stacking more 1v1 or doing big skills earlier? I’m much more familiar with U21 than I am NT progression, but based on my knowledge it seems like it has worked for players I’m familiar with from a few different countries.

The problem with tanking the backward skill too much is that maybe it will get your potential full before having a good inside skills a'd in that case it would be a catastrophy idk if the potential work this way?
What do. You think?
