Press Release
Panthers lose scrimmage to Belarus 129-117

Whether it was pregame jitters or need to work on team chemistry, the Pilipinas Panthers have to figure this out before June 5.

The Belarus White Wings used a combination of guessing the right game pace and efficient shooting from beyond the arc to stun Team Pilipinas, 129-117. Star guard Dmitry Mashevskiy led the way with 24 points, with shots from behind the three point line of foul line and 10 assists to lead the charge. The Panthers had no answer to the modern NBA-style of play the White Wings employed, converting 16 of 32 shots from the three point line. "It's challenging to win if the other team makes that many threes at the highest level," coach Raddy said after the game. "Looks like we have to tweak our rotations and game strategy a little more - bring it up to eleven". Veteran Peter Heyrosa led the Panthers with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

The Panthers open the tournament on June 5 against a young Kazakhstan squad, led by 29-year old Sakysh Kalmuratov.

Maraming salamat sa lahat sa patuloy na pagsuporta sa inyong lingkod.

We can now focus our attention to the Asia Cup na magsisimula sa lunes, 29 Apr 2023. 1st week ay bye week natin kaya naman scrimmage na lang muna tayo.

As listed by Coach fPz, we will be in for a tough 1st round pool with China and Australia being our biggest threat. Please make sure to keep our NT players in great shape in those weeks we play them to at least give us a chance of winning.

Our roster is pretty much set this season but we will keep slots open in case of emergency.

Muli, maraming salamat sa lahat at good luck sa atin this season.

Laban Pilipinas!

Press Release
Panthers fans watch Borat in preparation for the PHL - KAZ matchup.

A crowd of more than 150 Pilipinas fans gathered last night at the CGV cinemas in the Cheonho-dong district of Seoul last night, eager to watch a screening of the 2006 film, Borat.

The Panthers faithful lined up for the 7pm screening, proud to wear the red, white, and blue as they were treated to a complimentary tray that consisted of a large cup of sago at gulaman, a pack of shing-a-ling, three sticks of pork barbecue, and a container filled with kikiam and fishballs. "We wanted to enjoy Filipino food while watching the movie, and the management of the cinema was kind enough to allow this event to happen," said the Panthers' PR representative. Viewers were treated to a slice of bibingka and halo-halo to end the evening.

The Panthers will face the Snow Leopards on June 5, 5pm local time.

Panthers drub Kazakhstan, 115-72

It didn't take long for the Pilipinas Panthers to put the game away against a young and gritty Kazakhstan squad, who were outgunned (-50 bench scoring differantial), outrebounded (53 vs 34), and out-assisted (26 vs 14).

Props to the Kazakhstan squad for playing a great game. They have a young team mostly composed of 25-year olds. I look forward to playing against them in the future
, coach Raddy said during the post game press conference. Forward Pete Libron Jims led the Panthers with a double-double, finishing with 21 points and 16 rebounds.

The Panthers face 65th seed Egypt, next.

Pilipinas proceeds to the 2nd group phase with a 4-2 record

Team Pilipinas will be moving on to the last round robin for a chance to reach the semifinals. Our schedule this round:
1. Iran - game later today in the afternoon. We managed to beat them in our 2nd week scrimmage this season and we hope to do that again.
2. Hanguk - host country who led a three-way 5-1 in group A. Got beat by Nippon in a close game;
3. Hong Kong - dominated group C 6-0 and beat Taiwan by double digits;
4. Australia - beat us by 8 with more effort in the previous round;
5. New Zealand - 4th place team in group A behind the 3-horse race between Hanguk, Malaysia and Nippon.

Looking forward sa magandang GS for the rest of the season from our NT players to maximize our chance to win every game. May 2 spots pa tayo sa NT and I plan to call up someone who can help us get better. Let me know if that player is yours.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng pagtitiwala at patuloy na suporta.

Laban Pilipinas!

Pilipinas finished 3rd, to face Italia for the World Championship Qualifiers

Team Pilipinas ended their 2nd group phase with a 3-2 record, tied with 2nd placer and host, Hanguk. We got fucked by New Zealand tanking against Hanguk a week before our game. They then went on to field their full lineup against our team in the last day, ensuring we don't get a chance for a medal finish.

Our losses came against powerhouse Hong Kong which were knocked out of the semifinals by Taiwan earlier today and Hanguk who had more effort and homecourt advantage.

On Monday, we will have our last chance to qualify for the World Championship against Italia. Enthusiasm will be level and this game will be decided by each squad's game shape and tactics.

We look forward to your support as we try and grab a chance for next season's World Championship. The last time Pilipinas was in the World Championship was in Season 46 after grabbing Silver in the Asia Championship in the previous season under Coach jeorge9.

Muli, maraming salamat sa lahat ng patuloy na sumusuporta sa NTs at patuloy na nagti-train.

Laban Pilipinas!
