Flash Mashers March On

Today marks the two-year anniversary since the Flash Mashers franchise played their first game under manager Chekreyes. The Flash Mashers have had much success in the past, and now stand as a top team in D.III in their seventh season together. When asked how he managed so much in so short of a time Chekreyes stated “I owe it all to Gary March. That guy is amazing, when I held our first practice as a new team he was the only player able to successfully identify a basketball.”

Gary March has put up incredible stats ever since the team began; he has collected a league MVP vote in four out of six seasons including every single first place vote in season 15. Gary March holds the Flash Mashers record for most total points with 1717; most free throws with 211; most rebounds with 1557; most blocked shots with 221; most steals with 105; and most fouls with 152. Gary March also has the second highest rating ever achieved by a Flash Masher at 15.0, and also nabbed a game with an efficiency rating of 59 – to put that in perspective the highest player in league III.6 averages a 31.9 rating. So what’s the crazy part about all of this? Gary March was on the Flash Mashers’ original roster, he was not purchased or drafted, but came into existence as a 19 year old at the very end of season 11 ready to train and ready to play.

When asked about March starting PF Porter Thomas said “It’s great to have someone out there that can actually speak English, Gary is a great team leader and even though he’s not starting anymore we all look to him when the game gets hard.”

When asked the same question starting C Xiao Zebin grunted, plucked something out of his hair, sniffed it, and crawled back to the den he had built under the west bleachers.

“We don’t go back there,” said Thomas, “a janitor tried to clean it out one night and we’ve never heard from him since.”

“It’s no wonder nobody will place a bid on him, he’s straight up terrifying, and he won’t stop fouling.” Stated Chekreyes.

The Mashers take on the Lengends today in one of the toughest matches this season. A win would be critical in securing home court advantage and number one overall seed in an incredibly competitive III.6.
