Flash Mashers March On

Exile

Tuesday night, the Flash Mashers had a comfortable lead on number four seed Extra Crispy for most of the game during the first round of the league III.6 playoffs. Starting SG Tyminski was sitting out due to a severe hang nail earned as he attempted to spin the ball on top of his finger during a game against Updog Brewers weeks earlier. During the first half teammate Spiros Xiros joined him on the bench after one of his eyelashes got stuck in his eye. This same injury had been bothering Xiros for much of the season and it became to much for the starting PG during the biggest game in Flash Mashers history.

"I really hated to go down on my team like that, especially during our first division three playoff game." sobbed Xiros after the game "But the pain was just too much ya know?"

Extra Crispy, who was playing with more enthusiasm, managed a nine point comeback in the fourth-quarter and shocked everybody with a one point win over the number one seeded Flash Mashers.

"I don't want to talk about it. I will spend next season in my office, I can't face my team or the fans..." stated manager Chekreyes with a blank look in his face "Next season will be spent on training how to avoid injuries, maybe I'll even hire a decent doctor. But for now just slip me some food twice a day, maybe some pain-killers... But I'm not leaving my office."

The disappointed fans are anxious for news about the teams future in III.6, but they'll have to wait. Rest assured there will be changes.

I think you got really unlucky as you had much higher team ratings and had home court advantage. Same thing happened to me a couple of seasons ago when I had a 19-2 record and the number one seed and lost to the fourth seed (Traptors).

By the way you still might promote since you had such a good record. If there are 4 or 5 bot teams in all of the division twos combined, they take the teams that didn't win their division with the best records. I don't know how many bot teams there are but I'd say you have a good shot.

This would be a great result for the rest of us in III.6 as it would mean two of the toughest teams would promote out of here (you plus whoever wins the title, probably either the Traptors or L&P).

There are only two bots in division two. The Italian Roosters and Nashville Freaks. They both finished 8th in league II.4 and would have automatically relegated anyway leaving no extra spots in division two. I'll be spending at least one more season here, so Aldutis Lenksatis and Antonio Monteiro will be the ones clearing the space for some financial breathing room.

man, what happened to #1 seeds. I thin I might have wished a LITTLE TOO MUCH bad luck on the #1's. I didn't mean you. Yuo have an argument to make that you should promote to D2. Herad that like, more than 70% of #1's lost yesterday. Talk about stunning upsets. Sorry. Dominate next season and you'll be heading into D2.1

You're fine. It was my game to lose. I controlled who I played and what effort I used but I blew it. A few small roster shifts, one less injury, playing CT, or even having a Crowd Involvement PR instead of National appeal may have given me those two extra points I needed. I ran the points per 100 shots numbers and on average I would win that game by about 4 points. Guess I just had bad luck.
