Canada Remain Undefeated, Advance to Quarter Finals

The Canadian national team defeated Iran 108-92 today and advanced to the quarter finals of the consolation tournament. Iran, ranked 16th in the world, were dealt a blow when their star point guard, Khodadad Hemmati was injured off of a hard foul from Canada's Michel Picard. Hemmati was the only Iranian player who entered the game in good shape and Canada's starting PG made sure he didn't leave the court under his own power.

"We needed a big night from our guards and Michel went out and injured Hemmati and then shot 80% from beyond the arc, scored 28 points and only missed four field goals all game." commented NT manager Chris Parsons, "Tonight Picard "made it so."

The win means that Canada have not lost a game all season. The will face Iceland at home next week in the quarter finals.
