@all HGL managers, read through:

If you are still playing in current Season's Playoffs, remember to organize your matches on time!

Last week we had a forfeit loss due to that.

Now we are past "Friday, at HGL game time", which is supposed to be the deadline for organizing HGL matches.

Links for two games are nowhere to be seen. This is current situation, which has not gotten any better in 5 days (since last Monday), when I last updated Playoff-post:
(EDIT: VPO-WMO was provided shortly after request on forum, but RAJ-ED is still missing even though it is supposedly already organized.
Second edit: 3 hours to PO Round 2 matches, all links provided by someone, but still links missing from box score posts of some participating teams, as you can see from below. End of an EDIT).

PO Round 2 (quarter-finals; 8 teams play): Sunday, July 5th, 2026

This, my friends, is not something we want to establish as a norm in HGL.

Today I once again came to see if all links have been provided, and had to send reminders to all managers with completely missing match links.
This absolutely should not be necessary (and even doesn't guarantee things will be taken care of/bbmails are seen in time).

Also LMS and VIV have not added match links to their own teams' box score posts, which is mandatory before matches start, as we all know.


Let's keep organizing games ASAP, after each Playoff Round schedule is announced.
Again, if you're 100% sure you know how to interpret who your opponent will be after winning your PO game (or losing in Semifinals, in which case next opponent is of course is very easy to interpret), you can already organize PO match before schedule for next PO Round is organized - but only in such occassions, and never before games on that Round have finished.

@ ED, LMS, VIV:
3 hours to start of Second Round of Playoffs, and box score links of Playoff matches are missing from your teams' own box score posts.

These need to be filled/added there without continuous requests... Like you guys know, we all need to add links there before matches start.


And like you probably understand, I try to make this method/process doable/viable in a long run (from everyone's point of view, including mine), so it's not ideal either, that I would have to bind myself into being logged in to BB at some unexpected times, time and time again, just because managers wouldn't be following the standard process/procedure/rules...

So this is partly why I've asked all of us who play in HGL to set up some kind of reminder to your phones/computers/calendars/whatever works for you the best, for certain time(s) of the week, to ensure things get done in time, thank you.

I wouldn't prefer to apply further penalties to reward following the rules (and vice versa), but we'll have to see about that if it continues to be the challenge (as it's actually been for multiple Seasons during Playoff time especially).

Like I mentioned earlier, I guess it's safe to say that we need to up "improve our game" in this regard, to avoid future rule changes.***

Quarter-Finals (Second Round of PO) on HGL Season 5 provided some interesting moments and good challenges from away teams (at least theoretically underdogs, as they were ranked lower in ORSR).

ED was able to keep the game as a one basket game at the 36 minute mark, but eventually fell short at Flash Arena in front of 3810 Rajdersi's fans that have came to prove RAJ once again progressing to medal games, as RAJ took the 4th quarter by 10. RAJ being 28/29 from the FT line ensured 'hack the Shaq'-strategy was not a viable option yesterday when it comes to winning that ball game (it's incredibly hard to win against a team that gets a lead, and practically doesn't miss from the line!).
Speaking of ED: you need to add match link to your box score post; this should be done prior to match each and every time.

KKS's 4874 fans at Vatrogasni Dom (was it really so that neither of home teams provided any tickets to away fans this time around?;) did get their money's worth of excitement, and saying that is probably an understatement of Season 5 HGL PO.
KKS was down by 12 before 4th quarter at their home court, but somehow, some way were able to find a way to win against strong LMS team, despite losing rebounds by 16 (64-48). Having a suffocating defense at the painted area surely helped them, as KKS were again able to produce incredible block numbers - 19 (while restricting LMS to only 1 block)!
While not all BB/HGLmatches prove to be interesting in terms of excitement on who is going to win the match, this one surely did - big time.
If #6 LMS woud've won, then of course that would've altered Semifinal matchups as VIV (in that theoretical situation being second worst ranked team among surviving teams) would have met RAJ on away court, and LMS would've met VPO on away court. Of course this is only speculation in this case, but just a thought.

To quote myself above, still no reply from Spela (HB), and how could there be, as he has only logged in on 28th of June. (There have been several long no-login intervals in his recent BB history, it seems - that can work at some points of the Season, but during PO or pre-season it certainly doesn't).

As far as his continuation in HGL, it doesn't look good. I have welcomed him to continue (naturally), mentioning that the requirement is that he does have enough time to organize matches on pre-season normally (just as the requirement has been for all, always).

I asked him to reply immediately when he logs in next time. Again, I wish he would reply here in HGL forum to state his decision.

As an update of situation with Hårdboll, he has logged in on 8th of July, but still no response. He has been sent another reminder on his willingness to participate to Season 6 (also welcoming him aboard on Season 6 as well if he has time to organize matches normally).
However, as I said, it does not look good, as he has seem to quit communication. We'll have to see how long we're going to wait for his response in this unfortunate situation. However, of course that doesn't prevent HGL-PL from being played, but just like in life, everything affects everything, so becoming non-communicative is not exactly what we're hoping to see in HGL (and there are limits to what we can tolerate in that regard, to keep league functioning in a good/reasonable level).
