I have 13 matches arranged, I did my part with challenges, if I don't receive challenges in a couple of days, I'll challenge the rest myself.

Thank you for info, it's good to hear from multiple managers where we stand currently.

Now that people have started creating (and partly filling) their own box score posts for Season 5, that'll also help us to see the progress.

The match inspection process though hasn't been started, and if someone wants to take part of that (and think that they're very careful/precise person and know how to do it correctly), they can let me know. We could for instance do certain RS Rounds per manager.
But it's possible for me to handle that myself as well, it's just good to know beforehand what's the case.

As I mentioned though, it's arduous process that requires concentration and there's zero room for error, so everybody please only lift your hand if you think you can handle (part of) that Season 5 match inspection process with precision. :)

Same with me - as we're bit late this time, 24h stretch was a very much uninvited guest for most of us.

Especially now that we are pressed in time, I don't mind if someone else sends correct PU match challenge (other than person responsible of doing so in the first place), as long as all match details are correct.

Remember, match time is the same time that you see on your BB schedule our match (vs. Wagner College) being played at. This same advice goes with all HGL managers.
For me it shows 15.30 for Season 5, and for you for instance it should show as being played 14.30 (02.30PM) because France's time zone is one hour behind Finland.

((Im not sure if BB would allow any "advertising" of websites, but one more way to ensure correct match time would be to use reliable online time converter website to find out what's the time difference between my and your time zone. However, we are on safer waters I believe, if everyone just checks out their BB schedule to see what's the time they are playing against my team (Wagner College)).

@all HGL managers, important:

EDIT May 1st: I just checked it and 14 managers have created their own box score post for Season 5.

This means 4 managers have not yet done that.

Season 5 starts in about 3 days, and I have lots of things to do, including finishing and publishing rest of Season 5 posts.

Nobody should wait for all those to be finished before starting their work; please proceed immediately to
- creating your box score post
- accepting correct PU match challenges and sending challenges what you need to send
- add all those matches to your own teams' box score post.

Teams that have not yet created their post as of 1st of May, in alphabetical order:
- ALA
- FRE
- VPO
- WMO


Please also remember, that I/we (if there will be volunteers) need to inspect each and every one of these links, which will take considerable chunk of time.

Our schedule is tight even if they all would be 100% correct, so please try to make sure you send and accept only correct challenges!

Quick action is needed in order to ensure Season 5 will start in time.

As for how to proceed, I believe all of you have a good grasp what needs to be done with match organizing, as nothing has changed from Season 4, other than being in a major rush.

There are typical informative posts available though if you're feeling unsure, for example this post (331392.16) and one above it, here: (331392.15).

Also posts on Announcements-sections on both Official Threads (second messages of Threads) do give you some memory refreshers on how you should now start to function.

I do strongly emphasize that we are very pressed with time, so I ask everybody to act immediately.

One of the challenges are that
A) I can't spend tons of time in BB every day, including tomorrow
B) I haven't had time to check a single match link some managers have provided
C) 10 out of 18 managers haven't created their box score post; is this due to not just having copied it from their device to Season 5 Thread, or have they not even started creating one?
D) I can't still know if all matches have been organized or not
E) I don't know if someone wants to help with part of the match specs inspection process or not (in verifying match specs are correct)
F) EDIT: it seems to return some kind of error-page, if I try to click any match link from box score posts - probably it's related to this BB server migration process somehow. Inconvenient though, if goal is to verify all links.

As I said, my BB access tomorrow will very likely be minimal.

So I ask and expect everyone to proceed with match organizing process for Season 5 RS "with full steam", and I'll reply as soon as possible (but I'm sure also some active HGL managers might be able to help you, if I'm not online at that moment).

We are in a rush if and as we want to start Season 5 in time, hence the direct way of communication:

Still to this moment Alanurmon Rikkaat (ALA) and Virtus Portici (VPO) have not created box score post for their team for Season 5.

Both have been contacted, as I mentioned.

ALA has been online today, but no response to my message (or created box score post) - I don't know if matches have been properly created or not.

VPO, if my memory serves me, was also online at the moment when I sent him notice about it, but I haven't heard of him either.

@all: it's 38 hours until the planned start of HGL Season 5. We need to step up our game a notch and finish strong, in order being able to get things done in time, so I ask everyone to make sure everything is as is supposed to be in terms of everybody having all of their Season 5 matches organized in their BB schedule.

Also, as many managers as possible, please try to click game links on other HGL managers' box score posts; do they work (or not, like is the case when I try to click them)?

@ all HGL managers, IMPORTANT post about start of HGL Season 5, please read through:

I try to keep this somewhat condensed text this time, but due to complexity of the subject it's not easy as you'll see.


As you all probably have noticed, we've having issues with box score post links not showing up correctly (returning Oops!-error message when opened before match has started).

So there are some things to consider about Season 5 start/postponing/possibility of having to re-arrange some RS matches later:

1. If it's possible and if we don't lose too many Rounds of RS games, I really would want to stick with the HGL rules, which means that match links should be inspected (also match starting time!) before match starts.

2. Set up your lineups now normally for all games, including for first Round(s) matches of Regular Season, but don't celebrate your victory yet fully before we'll get a proper (or any, to begin with) response from BB-Staff about resolution time estimate on this issue. Normal HGL rules about too small lineup etc. are valid also for these matches, if they eventually will be considered as valid match results (see "5." for more information).

3. So these matches that take place before we get a proper reply from BB-Staff (that we feel we can trust from the standpoint of issue correcting timetable) may or may not count. See "5." below.

4. I will not update league tables yet, before we'll see how many Rounds we'd miss/have to reorganize (because that decides whether or not matches would've been valid to begin with).

5. After some consideration I've at this point come to the middle ground-solution (that I think tries to stick with HGL rules as much as sensibly possible, but also hears some of you guys' wishes of accepting all matches as is), so:

- if we would only miss like 4 matches before this issue is corrected by BB (and by 5th RS Round I could verify all matches beforehand), then we can rearrange these Round 1-4 games.

- if correction by BB would take, say, 3-4 weeks, and we would miss (have to re-organize) 8-10 RS games, then I'd be willing to use these existing links without being able to inspect them prior to match.

6. Naturally normal HGL rules apply with these RS matches of first Round(s) that I'm unable to verify; no wrong match specs will be accepted so I hope they're all correctly arranged.


Please also note:
1. There are missing match links on some of you guys box score posts, please correct them before Season 5 is planned to be started tomorrow!

2. I'll now start to fill my own box score post with links, and then will likely reluctantly (as that's almost double amount of work this way as I haven't been able to verify what I copy there first!) proceed to filling box score posts with hopefully correct match links.

3. In the case first Rounds would be decided to be accepted as official results (as I mentioned, decision on that is still pending depending also on BB-Staff answer on box score links-problem correction timeline, that we're waiting!), remember this:
I'm not able to inspect any of these match links, to make sure that they even refer to correct opponent/match. These kind of mistakes have been found out having been made on previous Seasons of HGL on teams' box score posts, so please do check out especially first RS Rounds of your schedule, that they're against correct opponent.

4. If you find out you have had mistakes in your own box score post markings, please inform me by BBMail or by sending forum message, don't just silently change information on your box score post, because then it doesn't update to official HGL schedule and it wouldn't count as official result.
