Hello,
My point regarding the ratings still stand, they don't make sense to me (I'm talking about the ratings in "opponent analysis" section).
I also have a very general comment to make after using the new website extensively every single day:
I feel like the starkest difference between two websites is that the new one emphasizes the outlook/fanciness while the other one emphasize the actual data, information and statistics that matter - and since those things are the essence of the game, I'm having a very hard time adjusting, and I'm simply spending my time inefficiently.
I know that Marco and Mattia will ask for specific things - rightly so - but the feeling I have is that it is in every step of the way once I log in. Obviously, the purpose of this message is not to say that Marco, Mattia and others are doing terribly, which would be simply wrong because it is apparent to me that they are working hard on it and it is visible that the site improves almost every day in many aspects. I believe, what I am trying to say is that in its current state it is probably not my type, you know.
I'm still gonna try to give some examples though, I'll try to do it with the "calendar" page (though same principles basically apply to many of the pages):
As said previously, everything is too big for me and requires a ton of scrolling aimlessly, which is why I've been using the tab zoomed out at 67% - which also causes some other problems but that's a choice, obviously.
Even then, when I click "Calender", the initial screen that shows up only shows me a handful of games - if my count is correct 10 and those 10 are the last 5 games, and the upcoming 5 games. In order to reach the full calendar, I have to click the option "Season 2" at the right upper side, then I reach to schedule for whole season, but again I can only see 10 games on the screen - even with the screen zoomed out at 67%.
One other thing is yes, it might be visually attractive to some people, but to me it is just kind of a burden while I'm trying to get the information I need - two of them are time date and the competition (one is thrown to the upper left side, the other one is thrown to the upper right side) and instead there is a green-red color mirage that is covering my screen. (The same principle also applies to many statistics throughout the many pages ; the thing that should be higlighted is the stats and stats mainly, maybe I'll do another post about it if this post has a positive reaction.)
Now, first look at the calendar in the Beta, and come back here to check the calendar here. I think what I'm trying to say will be more clear. When you look at the calendar here, the whole season is clearly visible, you need minimal scrolling and it is very clear which competition is being played and the coloring is simple but effective. It doesn't need any additional clicks, it doesn't have any hurdles, it gives you exactly what you need.
I believe that the difference is stark: here the calendar is compact, informative, effective and it simply gives you what you need. It is not fancy, but it doesn't need to be (as said this basic principles apply to many pages accross the site).
Lastly, one last minor - let's call it- obssesion of mine is that I think we also need the exact date and starting time clearly stated on the calendar. It's not informative/effective when it's 8.06 in the morning and it only says "12 hours, 54 minutes left", it will not stay in my mind or it will force me to calculate. However, if it says "starting time 21.00" - at least on the calendar-, it will be much much better, in my opinion (the same especially applies for the transfer list, I want to know the exact hour it finishes, not how much is left!)
It's been a long post once again, thank you for keeping up with me for today's rant! :)
