Nice and helpful thread, thanks!

I have 4 of my 5 bought players for sale for cheap. If they don't sell, I'll fire.

What happens with the 5th? Well, I bought him too recently... wil put him for sale as soon as possible for cheap too. If not sold, I'll fire.

I'll inform here when I am HG compliant.

Would like to play HGL season 6, you all need some easy games!

Or, I what I think I'll end doing: sell the 4 guys who are not HG. That way I start next season as HG.

Because to start a complete new team, having a Utopia Team, need GM involvement...

The thing is... I started this team in 2023... played for 2 years... then left exactly one year ago... now I found my team with 7 weak players, but still my gym 2, and money.

Would that team be OK to play in HG-PL? (I do have an advantage over a full HG team started from 0, if I convert to a HG team from a normal one: gym 2, good money)

edit: added some more info on my current team...

Hello Brucehum,
It's good to hear from you!
While I'm not sure I understood all the specifics of your planned team completely (in order to be able to answer to your question about HGL-PL eligibility), you're basically HGL (Home-Grown League) and HGL-PL (HGL-Promotion/Participation League) compliant team if you have only players in your roster that:
A) have been given to you by BB when you started playing BB, in other words are original players, and/or
B) have been drafted by you. They may have been playing in other teams at some part of their career (in other words you may have purchased them back to your team and still be HG team) but they need to have been drafted by you originally.

Naturally there are some other restrictions as well, such as requirement to stay fully HG team for the full duration of HGL or HGL-PL participation period. Mostly HGL-PL follows HGL rules/practices/guidelines.

But please note 2 things on requirement of a time frame as far as being 100% HG team:
1. For HGL teams this is a constant requirement, meaning that you can't buy ineligible players at any point of the Season, if you plan to play also on next HGL Season.
2. For HGL-PL, this requirement is way shorter for HGL-PL teams, as explained in HGL-PL posts (link second to last, below); on Season 5 this requirement goes only for 9 days (from 19th to 27th of July you have to be totally HG team), and while it differs from Season to Season, it's certainly on the lighter side. This in practice means that you don't have to become 100%HG team before HGL-PL starts (in order to be able to participate), and start of HGL-PL Season 6 is not scheduled to be at the beginning of next BB/HGL Season.
However, it still stands that you need to have initial willingness to participate to HGL, so it's not meant for teams that get rid of ineligible players for 2 weeks and then plan to return to "regular" (non-HG) style of play strategy in BB.

You're right, there's a major advantage of continuing with your current team (making it 100% HG team), when you look at the economical aspect of it!

So in order to participate to HGL-PL, you also need to have at least initial intention to participate to HGL as well (in other words, intention to accept place in HGL, if it's offered to you, based on HGL-PL success and number of withdrawing or fired/dismissed HGL teams per each Season, if any). This means you at the end don't have to accept place in HGL if/when it's offered to you, but you should have a genuine initial interest to accept it if you participate.

But in short, if your team is HG eligible when HGL-PL starts on Season 6, and are willing to participate to HGL as well, you're free to participate HGL-PL on Season 6, to fight for a place in HGL on Season 7, should places be freed (for Season 7, as they in most cases have almost each Season since the very beginning; however, this isn't guaranteed).

And the HGL-PL process is explained quite in depth in this post, and also in three other posts following this first one: (331392.19).

So everyone else as well, if you're interested in participating to HGL-PL, please send me BBMail or send a message on Official HGL Thread, here: (331392.1), or if you're responding later, it's best to contact us on current HGL Season's thread(s); on BB Season 73 it will be Season 6 Thread, and so on.

Thanks for the information, and welcome aboard - hopefully it'll be a long and rewarding journey for you!

And like you (probably) already know/have noticed, you're very welcome to chat with us on Official HGL Threads (currently on Season 5 Thread, on next BB season to Season 6 Thread, and so on...)!

Same goes of course with all other (current and future) HG teams. It's also good to have conversation here, as it's good to keep this HG thread active as well, which I think has been so important for many of us HGL managers!

You have extremely young team in your hands, so when you get a good/decent trainer, get few more good draftees, and train efficiently, you should see pretty rapid rise in the level of your players quite soon. Good luck with training!

Last season was a bit disapointing, because I made some errors when managing High/Normal/Low attitude. So I lost many games (at least 3), and I finished 7th (9/13) in a very tied conference.
Hopefully, I was able to win (2-0) the Relegation PlayDowns, even without my best player, out after 13 minutes in the first game.

This season, my two best players (28/29) will have to lead the team, cos' my 2 veterans turn 38 (20 k of salary) and won't be able to play 30 minutes with good efficiency. They will be substite for many many games, now.

The last player I train (with 2 two Hof/Legend) is a Hof player of 21 y-o. I should train Inside this season (4x ID, 2-3x IS, 2x Rbd) and some JS/SI.

Thank you. There are more than enough teams in the HGL. I wouldn't like to go to the HGL at the expense of another team. Maybe if you ever miss a team before the start, I would go for it. But not if there are enough teams.
