Fully aware that I’m fouling way more than average compared to the league and have aggressive players, but then why hasn’t that translated into steals or OTO? I just feel this flies in the face of realism.

I guess to make this a more constructive discussion, I’ll say it is unclear to me what the hidden aggressive rating does except increase fouls. First, I’ll say I’m not naive to think that I’m not playing against +22 OD and DR players in NBBA. And my guys are good in those areas but not that. Also, I know I run outside more than my competition. BUT I would think that an aggressive player would have more steals , OTO, and blocks. My team is bottom 3rd in all and in points against. I would also think that if I’m aggressive on defense I would also be aggressive on offense. Someone pointed out I foul at a rate 4 fouls higher than the next highest. That’s not even half the story… I’m DFL in fouls against for a -12 fouls margin per game! Next closest is 3! While not tracked in buzzer manager (or by myself), I can tell you the FT discrepancy feels much more that twice as large as the foul discrepancy. Why would aggressive players get fouled less? The most unrealistic part to me is how one sided it is. If we’re going for realism, I think there would have to be a rubber band factor that keeps the fouls within some shred of realistic. Or have aggressive players also draw more fouls. Make up calls are definitely real.

It’s just frustrating after finally making it back to NBBA after like 35 seasons and losing all these close games like this. In my five losses 10 points or fewer, I shot 148 less FT. Just wow actually adding that.

Hi Hokied, i send a BB-mail to marin a few days later.

I did not receive an answer

This is the bb-mail about the foults:
_____________________________________________________________________

Good BB-marin first of all write to you to thank you for all the new things that you are updating in the game.

I would like to contribute on behalf of the Spanish community to the issue of free throws, we do not understand how players with such a good level of defense make so many fouls and in an unrealistic way.

We wanted to make a post in the BB-global to propose a change in fouls, it does not make any sense that TOP players are sent off practically every game.

It's a bit frustrating to be a top player and see how you can't play a game for 48 minutes.

If we want to make the game more real, the % of fouls that the player makes should depend on skills such as defenses, currently it is not like that.

Examples:

((47886646)) OD: 17 ID: 12 Still training since 18 years and in all the seasons this guy do a lot of faults actually is the best player in his position with the age of 24 (141 STH) in 90% matches do 6 FP

((43934523)) OD: 16 ID: 19 (When my friend spanish manager have this player no play more than 20 minutes each match...)

My question is this:

If we open a post in the BB global forum with a survey, ask if they want a change so that the players doing foults based on some skill is more realistic, would you look to change it?

Thanks for all BB-Marin!

Have a good day!

PS: I use google translate because my english is so poor sorry xD

We need to change this 'hidden skill' that any players do a lot of foults for no reason...

Regards.

I wonder if playing zone defense rather than 1 on 1 helps alleviate the foul situation. I also have a player who averages 5 fouls in 33 minutes, but he is my HOF draftee so I definitely won't sell him, but getting thirty something training minutes every week hurts a lot.

I don't have proper numbers to back it up, but some time ago I noticed that my players tend to foul out while playing zone defense. That's why I never play zone defense anymore unless it's a game that won't affect my player's training minutes. I think it's somewhat related to the increase in help defense when playing zone (I remember reading this a very long time ago, that said I'm not sure how accurate it was).
