Thank you for the kind offer, would love to join in and help out to see how it is going - and have training capacity as well - plus do not have a small group crazy enough to do something like this... yet

In this video, I discuss how I avoid and dodge game day prep guesses and how triangle tactics can be incredibly useful for league play both during the regular season as well as the playoffs. I show my favorite Triangle Tactic, and provide other examples as well.

Nice video!

Regarding what you say at minute 7, I disagree with your perspective. You say that, with non-triangle tactics, there's a 4/9 chance to get double-guessed, while with the triangle ones, there's a 1/9.

If you play only 3 tactics, no matter whether they are triangle or not, there's a 1/3 chance that the opponent will double-guess you. The only difference between triangle tactics and non-triangle tactics is that, when you're not double-guessed, it's always a double mistake in the case of the triangle ones while it is one mistake and one guess for the non-triangle ones.

To sum up, triangle tactics are good for causing double-guess mistakes but are also dangerous, because when the opponent is right, you are double guessed. I used them when I had weaker teams. However, when you are superior and your main goal is not to be double-guessed, it is way better to play 5-6 tactics and make it almost impossible to be double guessed. The price to pay is that most times one of the two GDPs is right (but almost never the two!).

Hey Darkonako!

Thanks for the feedback and thoughts! I suppose the percentages don't work very smoothly when the focus and pace tactics aren't independent from each other, so I see your point there.

Something I could have made slightly clearer is probably that while having 3 primary tactics is good, they typically should not be your only tactics, for the reason you just laid out. In my example of my favorite triangle I have LI, Motion, and Patent listed, but if you look at my tactics ran, you can see I also have a decent amount of PtB, as well as a LP game and an II game. That means that 25% of my games, I was still not running offenses from my triangle.

In essence, I played 6 offensive tactics last season and was able to pull out the LP and II against two opponents who I thought had a chance to double-GDP guess me. With that being said, I don't think you necessarily need to run 5-6 tactics consistently, as long as opponents know you are capable of switching it up. Many times I know when a double GDP guess might be coming and when it likely isn't (although this is just my experience where I have mostly spent time in D.III).

In this video, I give a tribute to Kumiko and provide a history on her team, 蝴蝶Supreme, discuss her nearly flawless Canada U21 season, and dive into what she meant to the game. She was one of best managers I had the pleasure of talking with throughout my early seasons on BuzzerBeater.

Yeah Kumiko is one of the managers I most remember from the 20s seasons when I was first getting obsessed with BB.

This is actually a video that I started a couple of months ago but life got busy so I just finished it and had the motivation to record last night. I have not heard about the Spanish manager unfortunately, so it was coincidental, but I’ll have to try to look more into that.
