Toward a brighter future!

After going unbeaten for the entire season in div.III, we are moving back up to the div.II, where we will try to continue our growth. This season did not bring the succes we were hoping for and in retrospect we are not so sure relegating on purpose really did us that much good. It is what it is however, and we do have some good news. We were lucky enough to notice that Cedric Boissevain improved a lot this season and is one of the most versatile players in the Netherlands.

A second improvement came at the two-guard spot, where we were lucky enough to convince Donny Hieltjes (Dutch u21-prospect) to help us bolster the backcourt. This enables us to have our outside players set for at least the next 4 or 5 seasons and set a new standard even for the top teams in The Netherlands. We are hoping that Hieltjes and Boissevain might play alongside eachother in the NT in a season or 2. A great achievement, that would be.

For now, we continue to have some gaps in our squad. Though we do not feel that our current post-players are total scrubs, we notice that we must improve here in order to move on to the highest level. We would prefer this to be a Dutch player, as this team is set out to reach the DBA PRO A with mainly Dutch players. We will continue to look out for additions and might possibly accept a losing season in order to ensure we have enough reserves to get that big-time post player, instead of using players that will not benefit us in the long run.

Second problem we are looking at is depth. We know we have a few good starters and a couple of decent bench-players, but currently some of these bench-players are starters which leaves us with scrubs from the 8th/9th bench position. So the main question is, how can we improve our bench by a lot, while not giving up large weekly profits we are desperately needing, for that star player?

Time will tell, time will tell...
