After getting 3 unproven draftees, that are trying to hold down their position in the rotation, it is time to start previewing the upcoming season.
We were beaten today in our only pre-season scrimmage, what doesn't really give you spark coming into our first season in the second division. After having a fairly easy season last year, we'll have to toughen it out. Our fan-base must accept that a 22-4 season isn't very likely this time around. We're hoping that they will remain confident about our teams ability to bring double u's to Rejection Stadium. Of course, we have watched our competition and they are very tough this year. Fortunately for us, most teams seem to be pretty evenly matched in our conference with mostly the same build-up as we have. Our goals will be quite simple this year, we will have to avoid relegation. It can go either way in our conference, it will be very tight this season. But if we are able to improve our players and create more options in our strategy, we must prevail. Of course, we have a vision as a franchise, where we want to be, and what sort basketball we would like to play. But at this point in time, we're just not ready to play the game that way.
So our objectives, which of course aren't very easy to reach will be:
- making the play-offs as a 4th or 3rd seed
- survive as many rounds as possible in the cup, hopefully a quarterfinal will be reached
- bring economic stability
The third objective could be fairly easily reached, if we don't run into some division I or top II team in the cup. This will provide us with the necessary cash, in trying to make a weekly profit, whilst scouting every single draft-pick we possibly can.
