But if you want to reach the top level, you absolutely need that kind of financial reserve.

But why? To overspend for a run of 2-3 seasons? I'd rather not have that.

Because if you don't have that kind of money, you can never expect to be competitive in B3.

It is alright if the decision makers want to change the way the game is played, but at least give the managers some much needed time to adjust, let the game smoothly evolve, instead of ruining the plans of those who have been building up their team and finances for 8-10 seasons. Officially announcing this change one season ahead is simply a slap in the face.

Yeah, absolutely. I am one of them, with both teams and I will adjust and do my best, but likely I will close the door after this project. I have been calculating, waiting for my time and suddenly I have to replan and change it all. As u say, its been a slap in my face and due to time invested I will end this cycle, but after that, bye bye

I'm glad you're such a funny guy, and that I can enjoy all the hilarious jokes you make. I hope that one day you'll play at the B3 level yourself and realize that this isn't just something I want — every team at that level needs that money.

From this post (332758.17) it looks like they never backed down when they introduced the hoarding tax in the first place. S33 announcement --- > S34 implementation (after the allstar). Maybe they won't postpone or do a gradual implementation after all. I do think they should (do a gradual implementation), but I don't subscribe to the opinion that it will be the end of competitive BB if they don't.

Edit: If that happens, me as a manager (1M in the bank) will not be able to compete with the rich clubs on the transfer market for quite some time (until the money is spent or taxed). If that earlier estimation is true and there are in fact 1200 "filthy rich" teams around, we may see an influx of $12B in the transfer market the first weeks of implementation, provided that all managers of those teams are very active.

I even think 2 seasons should be enough, thats a full year to rebuild or restructure any team honestly.

You don't need 25 million to be competitive in D1 or B3. I’ve never had more than 10 million in my account, yet I’ve been playing in D1 for nearly 20 consecutive seasons, securing a few titles and decent B3 runs along the way.

I think there is a huge difference (in terms of rigour - spending tens of hours paying attention to every single detail, training, cashing in smartly etc.) between making a decent run in B3 and preparing in order to win it.

Do we really want to reward that kind of practice to such an extent?

It isn't the point As you said, those managers 'play by the rules' and find the best way to win e.g. the B3. The debate is not about whether or not 'tanking' is morally ok, it is about the fact that managers whose only crime is to have planned something for years should not be penalised like they will be if this is implemented as soon as S74.

That said, I fully agree with those calling for a gradual transition. That has been a recurring issue with past changes. BB is a long-term game. Therefore we need to be given a few seasons to adapt before major changes are implemented.

Voilà! On est d'accord ;) You just don't change such a critical (10 yo) rule in a flash.

As a manager that has spent 23 seasons straight in the top division of small-medium size but reasonably competitive country I would say in the past it was not necessary to have maximum savings to do well in a country league or have reasonable placements in B3.

However:-

I am not looking forward to eventually demoting and having to save money again; though it would be nice to be able to train players.

If a solution could be fabricated that allows top division managers to train young players and not dedicate years to saving income I think that would be the best outcome for the game.

Perhaps a stricter salary cap or rewarding teams that like saving with a different kind of value, perhaps money saved in a season instead of being banked could be turned into some sort of credits for generating/rolling randomly generated players within a certain salary level depending on their division. I don't think it is wise to reduce or remove something without another system to replace it.
