Lance "Ox" Mattox Honored

A new season brings with it a new Hall of Fame ballot. With such a transient history, the New York Jests leave scant opportunity for a player to hold on long enough to accrue the necessary stats. Nevertheless there were a number of qualified candidates. Unfortunately, team rules allow only a maximum of one player to be inducted each offseason.

This season the inductee was clear. Joining Brian Pickett and Perry Gipson in the Hall of Fame will be Lance Mattox. Lance, like Brian, is an original member of the New York Jests franchise, joining the team in the expansion during season 3. Perry Gipson was also an original member of the team, having been drafted by Jests management in season 6.

Lance contributed for 9 seasons with the Jests before he was sold tot he Hong Kong team Olympus사. He still plays a healthy role on the team at the age of 35, proving his longevity and experience. Lance could not be reached for comment.

Mattox led the team in scoring in their Season 4 D.IV championship game over tt. After falling short in the Season 8 D.III championship game over Chaos Lords, Mattox came back and helped the team defeat Midshipmen the following season.

Lance Mattox currently ranks #4 in total points with 2,074 and #1 in rebounds with 1,769; over 600 more than the next closest player. Additionally, he ranks #4 in +/- at +983 and #2 in total minutes at 4,990.
