Season 22 Review

The season could be best summed up as a 14 week course in Murphy's Law; but, while their weren't a lot of positives to celebrate, the New York Jests will be remaining in the NBBA for at least one season, matching their all-time record of 2 consecutive NBBA seasons. As I mentioned, not a lot to celebrate.

A tumultuous, not to mention questionable, roster was punctuated by a major Rex Perez injury, smack in the middle of the season. Perez, possibly hearing the rumors about his long term viability with the team and in the NBBA, then went on to slap together an impressive relegation series, improving each game and highlighted by his stat filled game 3. In a do or die road game, he put up a season high 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

Despite the late rally by Rex, however, the season MVP will go to Hunter Macis for the second straight season. Macis put together a complete season in his first go in the NBBA, often matching up against much bigger stars. Macis finished the season 19.1 pts and 10.9 rebounds. He placed among the league leaders in minutes (4th), points scored (4th), offensive rebounds (3rd), total rebounds (7th), field goals made (3rd), free throws made (3rd) and PER (10th).
