Progress

Thus far, Season 12 has been another season of slow but steady progress for the New York Chunks. Jumping out to a 5-3 start and reaching as high as 3rd place, the Chunks have shown that they are no longer an underdog in every game. Though the team has lost 4 of its last 5 games and, at the All Star break, sits in 6th place, the Chunks’ 6-7 record marks continued improvement on the previous season, and a .500 season record is within reach. Maybe still another season or two away from cracking the playoffs, the Chunks are only one game behind the three teams tied for 3rd place, so the Chunks may still find themselves in playoff contention yet. A brisk winning streak after the break may be enough to pull the Chunks out of a relegation playoff and into a post-season spot. But all in all, an 11-win season would be a satisfying sign to fans that the Chunks are still on a steady course on the road to championship contention down the road.
