Arizona Wins Conference Championship!

The Desert Storm hosted the conference championship tonight at Ajo Als Arena against the Finger Rolls. The Finger Rolls came in with the same record as Arizona, at 17-5. The Rolls have one of the better defenses in the league, and clearly had the home team confused for most of the game. This game was nip and tuck throughout, but Home court Advantage proved to be the difference as Arizona fed off the crowd down the stretch to close this game out.

Just over 3 minutes into the 4th quarter, the Finger Rolls tied the game at 62 with a 4-0 run to start the quarter. Arizona responded with an increased intensity on defense, and efficiency on offense to close out the game over the final 9 minutes on an 18-4, to win 80-66!

With this victory, Arizona are conference champions for the 7th time in 9 seasons as a franchise! This is their first D2 conference championship. The Desert Storm now move on to face Ambitious and Misunderstood in the league Finals. Ambitious is loaded with great players, and have the added advantage of being able to play 2 games at home in this series, if a 3rd game is necessary.

Unfortunately Ambitious will be a little shorthanded as their best player Hasan Hüseyin Sagun went down to an injury in the last week of the season. This injury will keep him out for ther rest of the season.

This series will be pit one of the better D2 offenses against one of the better D2 defenses. This clash in styles is sure to be full of fireworks!!

GO STORM. Always like how you manage it, go to the NBBA! You can do it! haha well Good Luck is all I'm saying, I wish my self luck too, cuase I need that arena bonus...........badly. If I want to start rebuilding, then I'll have to win my league.........my D5 league like a D4 almos, ohh wel,, GL and hope to see you in the NBBA ;)
