Arizona Advances to the National Cup Tournament Championship!

The Desert Storm withstood a determined Technical Fouls team, winning 113-104, advancing to face Delta 9 in the Championship game! This game was quite the slugfest with a slew of early fouls, and a very entertaining game for the fans to watch! For Arizona, this has been quite the contrast from last seasons run to being Tournament Champions. Last season the team enjoyed the easiest weekly draw that any team in the USA has ever seen. After facing an uninterested D2 team in the Semi Finals, they destroyed an NBBA team that was playing a team that most DV teams could have dispatched.

This season has been quite different as they are finishing the tournament facing 4 NBBA teams in 5 the final 5 weeks of the tournament! Ironically the two toughest league games Arizona has had all season came against Technical Fouls and Delta 9. Technical Fouls visited Phoenix in early February and it took a late run for Arizona to pull away after TF controlled the entire game. 2 weeks later Arizona went on the road and grinded out a 2 point win, 77-75 over Delta 9; they felt very fortunate to escape with a win in that one!

So now after surviving this latest thriller against Technical Fouls in which they lost each of the 1st 2 quarters and trailed by 6 at halftime, Arizona put up 65 second half points to win the game & move on to face Delta 9 in the Championship where they again expect to have to leave everything on the floor if they want to repeat as champions!

Unlike last season, the Desert Storm will also be balancing trying to win League Playoff games as they also stay focused on the upcoming National Tournament Championship.
