The Desert Storm came right out of the gates as a new franchise with a determined competitive spirit that saw them win all of their games in their first season and win their first championship seemingly immediately after they started. Since then this franchise has been driven to be successful often finding their way to the championship series at the conclusion of each season. In their 12 seasons so far, Arizona has played for the League Championship in 8 of those seasons, having won it 5 times.

In recent seasons this team has come in with lofty aspirations of making it to the Final 4 of the National Cup Tournament, or even perhaps winning it all. So it's ironic that in a season when they had zero aspirations of success they walk away with the Trophy!

Now, there is no doubt, Arizona didn't overpower the country to win this title, but it's a Championship to be treasured regardless. The Arizona fans have been frustrated in recent seasons because of the seemingly bad luck this team has had when it comes to their Cup draws. Many, many times the Desert Storm was rewarded after beating a high ranking team, to only draw another high ranking team, and then watch the cycle repeat. That cannot be said of this season! Arizona enjoyed the most amazing dream run a team could ask for.

The closest game the team had in the entire tournament was back in the Quarter-Finals against D2 Senacville Bombers in which they won 87-74. For the first 2/3 of the Tournament Arizona drew very outmatched lower division opponents; or if there was a possibility of a real challenge, it just so happened that the game was played in the friendly confines of Ajo Als Arena further tipping the scale in their favor.

All of sudden Arizona progressed so far in the tournament they realized they needed to put a real team together and make a run. Privately management figured as soon as they put forth effort to field a formidable team, their luck would change and they would start drawing tougher opponents, that would end their run. But instead, their luck got even better!! All of the other NBBA teams started drawing each other, knocking each other out of the tournament, and Arizona was either drawing teams their new and improved roster should take care of, or drew teams in Lower Divisions that had to turn their sights towards their league play games.

In the end, because of all of their favorable draws, Arizona earned their way to the Championship game, and surprisingly, they faced a team heading in a new direction as a franchise, and had zero interest in winning and gave the Championship game to the Desert Storm!

Additionally, Arizona, who expected to relegate this season because their focus was on improving their arena, training, money, and the upcoming draft, they end up receiving a free pass to stay in the NBBA! Arizona finished 6th in the Great 8 this season, but the 7th and 8th seed teams in the Big 8 are no longer being actively managed so Arizona will not have to put out any expense or effort to stay in the NBBA.

What started off as a boring and depressing season turned into a dream run that the team or fans will not soon forget!

Congratulations on a great Cup run. It does usually take some good luck, granted, but you still have to win all the games, which you did! Take some time to enjoy your success! BTW, I always enjoy reading your press releases too! Good luck in your offseason.

Nice work my man. It's one of the two biggest accomplishments on this game. Winning the cup with the other getting a message from Burger Chefs.
