Historic Franchise Victory!

After opening the season with a road loss against Storied NBBA Perennial power Lake Merrit, Arizona bounced back and picked up a win in front of their home crowd, despite being Short handed.

In the first game of the season, PF Martin Ryska went down with an apparent rib injury, but after no bruising and the X-Rays coming back negative for a break, teammates are saying that Ryska is suffering from menstral cramps. Before the game, he found 100 bottles of Midol in his locker. Apparently he didnt find it very funny....despite that, he cheered on his teammates from the bench as they took the court without him to face the #8 Bruins.

Arizona took control early, and led by as many as 21 in this one. Center Lorenzo Bland had a monster peformance scoring 28 points, collecting 19 boards, and dished out 4 assists. This was one of the largest crowds to ever see the team play, and they were loud the entire game, and clearly they were a factor in 102-93 home court win.

Arizona will now go on the road to face a start up franchise in the National Cup Tournament before returning to league play, with a road game against the New York Jests on Saturday. The team is hoping that Ryska's cramping will over by then and he can return to the court.

Thanks Steve! Can't say I am looking forward to heading to California for the rematch later in the season :-) i am really glad the two injuries you had were just in game. Whew!
