Monsoon Clears, Sun Shining Brightly in the Desert Again!

After a season of no expectations that resulted in lucking their way into being USA National Tournament Champions, Arizona has added to their core and are fielding a team that has high expectations for the first time since they arrived in the NBBA!

Arizona opened the season with a road win against D2 Champion and NBBA new arrival Cross Chargers. The Chargers hadn't lost a regular season game at home since last April, dating all the way back to Season 23. The Desert Storm then returned home to face their rival, and one of the better teams in the the NBBA, 10inch Vertical. Arizona's lack of depth was a concern going in to the game, but their 3 headed monster of bigs each scored 20+ to pick up the slack for not having a bench in a 92-77 win.

The team is still finalizing their roster, and going to have a Press Conference to officially introduce their new players and team. Bu for now, fans are getting more and more excited about what lies ahead in the new season. Starting off 2-0 and an easy B3 win against an over-matched opponent have only increased the expectations; and excitement is returning to the Valley of Sun about the this team!

Next Up: Thursday the Desert Storm face another over-matched opponent in the Cup Tournament, and then head back on the road against another D2 Champion, Beware of Dogs. This will be the 15th time these two teams have played, but the first meaningful game since Beware of Dogs won the Championship Series 2- 0, back in Season 13. This the 3rd time they have been in the same league together, but first time since that Championship series that both teams were on the same page in terms of being competitive teams heading in the same direction.

There is a Storm brewing in Arizona again, but this time the damage will be will taken out on opponents rather than the fans suffering through another rebuilding season!!
