“One left.” That’s all that was said by Gus Ball, after a vintage defensive performance. His stifling presence in the paint was felt, as the Rhinos held Pata Hoops to only 85 points on 38% from the field. Despite an elite offensive performance, it was truly their defense that shined.
Leading a multidimensional offense for the Rhinos was none other than league MVP Julien Taieb. His 34 points on 18 shots was a true masterclass, and all Pata Hoops could do was watch. It felt like he got anything he wanted; quietly, consistently, picking apart the opposing defense play after play after play. With Tanti giving the Rhinos 32 minutes of pure bucket-getting off the bench, this one never felt close. 27 for Tanti, and probably as many broken ankles.
Richmond looks to capitalize on the performance this weekend on the road, where they look to bring Richmond to DII for the first time in the city’s history.
