Smedlock Looks to Acquire Star Forward

Eclypze fans have been very excited over the past few days as it has been confirmed that owner Smedlock has begun the search for an elite SF or PF to take the team to the next level. Fans have begun speculating about what superstar forward their team will acquire. Will it be Tobias Kienbink or perhaps an American like Irwin Velasco? One Eclypze fan who maintains a fan site wrote in his blog: "Eclypze appears to be mired in mediocrity, no one short of a Kienbink or Velasco will do. Smedlock, don't be cheap, get a great player!"

Yesterday, Smedlock sought to temper the free agency enthusiasm a bit: "while it is true we have a bit of money to spend and are looking to acquire a star, I doubt it will be a player on the order of Velasco or Kienbink. Those are two of the best small forwards in the world. It doesn't mean we still won't get a great player, but I think the expectations of Eclypze fans have exceeded reality. One thing I can promise Eclypze fans, we will get an impact player for not only division three but also division two in the future. We won't settle for a so so player that will just fill a position, we want to find a dominate player, preferably someone who is well rounded and can anchor our somewhat shaky defense."
