Rookie Nemesio Xermade Beasting Over the Competition

With a 1-17 record, a pending lawsuit over the shady dealings surrounding Connie McInyre and high personnel turnover, Eclypze fans don't have much to be excited about. One bright spot in this otherwise bleak picture is emerging rookie sensation Nemesio Xermade.

Nemesio joined the team at the start of the season with an unprecedented amount of hype. With his skills honed on the mean streets and playgrounds of The Bronx, Nemesio is expected by many to be one of the greatest American players to ever play the game. Every superlative has already been use to describe his game and his unlimited potential. At times he has been compared to Charles Barkley with his strength and tenacity and at other times to Kobe Bryant with his smooth stroke. It's his combination of strength, explosiveness and finesse that put him into a category of his own. Fans have already given him the nickname "The Nemesis".

As an 18 year old The Nemesis was not expected to make much of an impact in the tough USA division three, especially as this was a season of transition for the team with lots of journeyman seeing playing time. He got off to a rough start averaging 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 turnovers a game. We didn't expect him to put up big stats but none of the scouting reports mentioned his inability to handle and pass the ball. Sure his jump shot is great, his dunks are ferocious and his rebounds fierce, but when he puts the ball on the ground it more often than not ended up out of bounds. Eclypze fans were beginning to worry that Nemesio was just another overhyped prospect.

All of that began to change as the season has progressed. With some Jedi mind tricks learned from Amitesh Devi, the resident spirtual guru trainer from India, Nemesio has begun to overcome his weaknesses while accentuating his strengths. His progress has been most evident in the last two games putting up the following statistics:

35 points, 18 rebounds and 2 steals vs. Spocker
30 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals vs Maine Lobstahs

The remarkable thing about these two games is not the gaudy stats, as good as they are, but the fact that Nemesio is already taking over the mantle of leadership and turning this into his team. Despite being heavily outmatched in both games and often getting tripled team, Nemesio willed his team on through the blowouts and found ways to make plays and score points for his team.
