Eclypze Trounced by Underdog Team in Playoffs

For the second season in a row, Eclypze was destroyed in the playoffs by a team they had no problem with in the regular season. Eclypze was 2-0 against the Toronto Traptors this season but got destroyed 118-91 in the playoffs, even with home-court advantage.

Some fans are blaming it on the "curse of the Nemesis", referring to the nonsensical trade that management made of the team's best player a couple of seasons ago. The coach had a more logical explanation, blaming it on a lack of game shape and enthusiasm. The fans are also furious that management took a 3 week vacation to Thailand before the playoffs and left the players to themselves, who decided not to come to practice while management was gone. Despite having a star studded team who put up a solid 16-5 record during the regular season, the team and management's lack of discipline showed in the first playoff game as the Traptors walked all over Eclypze, giving up 118 points, which was the most they had given up all season.

This is the second season in a row that Eclypze got ejected from the playoffs in a game they should have won. Last season Eclypze lost to the Ozark Tigers in the first game of the playoffs, which is a team that Eclypze is 4-0 against in the last two seasons.

Team owner Smedlock vows to come back with a vengeance next season. He claims his team will dominate his league, private league and the cup, and he will continue to make roster changes to already improve on a great team. But the damage has already been done on the fan base who are very disappointed over the last two season's playoff upsets.
