Late Mid-Season Recap

Having just completed their best Cup run ever—seven consecutive road games ended with a loss to the NBBA Heathens—the road-weary Riverdogs have one game remaining on the inter-conference schedule, a game Tuesday at the High Tops. The Dogs sit in fifth place in the Great 8 with a 7-7 record, one game behind Guitar Heroes. As has been the case virtually since their debut in Div IV in season III, the Dogs rely on a balanced offensive attack coupled with good defense and rebounding. With league rankings ranging from 15th in FG% and 14th in points scored to 3rd in points allowed, 3rd in blocks and 1st in rebounding, it's no secret of the Riverdogs' strengths.
With the recent addition of 6-8 Russian PF Pavel "Ion" Ionenkov, the Dogs field a squad with six players averaging in double figures, led by Michael "Mad Dog" Frame and Victor "Luke" Lucena at 14.2 each. Leading rebounders are Lucena at 15.2 rpg and Freddy "the Hammer" Davila at 10.4 rpg.
Owner Pappy ODaniel wanted to thank the fans for their great support as the Dogs make a bid for their sixth straight playoff berth in BB. Pappy added that all Riverdogs away games are broadcast live at 7PM on radio station KDRR (95.7) with former Providence and ABA star Ernie Degregario doing the play-by-play. Pappy always marvels how a town the size of Dog River (2000 census: 4987 people ) manages to support the Riverdogs so well...
