Riverdogs to the Elite 8!

The weather outside the Dog Kennel was frightful, the sparse crowd of 15447 was anxious, and the league-leading Salisbury Auerbachs of BB-Edju were in town. And in order to keep their hopes alive for a 12th consecutive playoff berth, the Riverdogs needed to win this game. Jumping out to a 27-14 lead at he end of the first quarter—and getting the crowd into the game—the Dogs led the entire game and won 79-66. In this matchup between two of the league's best defensive teams, the Riverdogs were led by Michaelangelo "The Painter" Fuso with 20 points. But Coach Jose Nickerson was quick to credit the inspired play of supersub Siegwart Schoefboeck. In only 16 minutes of PT, "Double S" had 16 points on 7-13 shooting and added two crucial tide-stemming steals. The Riverdogs held the Auerbachs to 1-20 3FG shooting and to 32% overall shooting though the Dogs themselves only hit 37% against the fine defensive Salisbury team.

Next up for the 17th-ranked Riverdogs is a national tournament Cup quarter-final game with the 9th-ranked Grubbses & Scrubbses of BB-Charles. For those unfamiliar with this team, there are an unbelievable 12 players on this club with the Grubbs surname. To counteract all these Grubbses, a large following of Riverdog fans will be traveling to the neutral site for this crucial game.

Very creative, fun and interesting press release!! I think i need to go to work on my creativity and spice mine up a bit now!! You are putting me to shame :-)

Great job on your cup run!! I am have a very strong feeling that the Riverdogs are heading to the final 4!! Very cool!!
