Dog River's Russian emigre Stanislav Anton (who is the so-called "spokesman" for Dog River's Russian community) has apparently fulfilled his promise to get out the vote for the Riverdogs' Russian PF Pavel Ionenkov. Vote tallies released by the league office last night showed that the Riverdogs' front line duo of Ionenkov and C Victor "Luke' Lucena were the leaders at their respective positions—and will start for the Great 8 team. Ionenkov actually led all voting with over 101,500 votes while Lucena was number 3 with 76,600+ votes. SG Sterling Lott of Dog River's sister team, the Washington, DC Meridian Hill McMornings, was the number two overall vote recipient and will start for the opposing Big 8. Dog River's talented swingman Virgil "Zorro" Csordas was also selected as the backup SF position behind Phoenix Blue Suns' Bernie Cook...The Riverdogs will head into the Wednesday All Star game after a Cup road game Tuesday night and should be at nearly full strength as they head into the last game of the inter-conference schedule Saturday.
